"Stacey's art dances with the music of a thousand songs." - FAA
Stacey's art is celebrated for its vibrant and energetic style. Her brightly painted work has become instantly recognizable. At 16, a profound family tragedy altered the course of her life, leading her to use this wellspring of emotions while she creates her dynamic contemporary animal, equine, and sporting art.
Since childhood in Seattle, Stacey's passion for art has been unwavering, and her distinctive pieces are now cherished by collectors worldwide. Her work has graced international galleries and lifestyle magazines, drawing a global audience.
Stacey also connects with her followers through social media, where she shares updates on her latest endeavors. When she's not creating, she treasures time spent with her family, often drawing alongside her red-haired grandson, Benjamin, as they craft new, colorful creations together.
This past weekend, I set up my booth at the First Saturday Outdoor Art Fair, hosted by DeGallery in Bryan, Texas. It turned into a beautiful, sun-filled day—one of those rare February afternoons that makes you forget winter entirely. I spent the day sharing my work, drawing live, and chatting with art lovers, fellow vendors, and friends.
One of the highlights of the event was having my grandson, Benjamin, with me. He was absolutely thrilled to take part in the kid’s Valentine’s Day art activities, where he met several other children and got creative. He also made his rounds, as he always does, chatting with the other vendors and artists—who were just as delighted to speak with him! Texas artists and creators have such a warm and welcoming spirit, and it was wonderful to see Benjamin soak up that sense of community.
Drawing with Benjamin is such a joy! He sits beside me and paints quietly. It's a delight to watch him stir his paint colors together, as he gives me an accurate lecture on how to create secondary colors, what colors to use, and how to keep the colors true in every shade. He listens so well and loves to repeat my lessons back to me. We enjoy spending time together this way, with me painting beside him while he works on whatever he wants to create.
Nineteen seventy-five was my first year away from home, after transferring to Washington State University from the University of Washington's Seattle campus, where I'd been going to school close to home.
I was looking forward to a new environment in Pullman, meeting new friends, and bringing my horse with me. Seraphim was a dark chestnut, Anglo-Arabian gelding my Dad purchased for me when I was eleven years old. I was looking forward to drawing and painting classes, and taking dressage lessons with my horse over the coming summer.
The sun has finally returned to the Pacific Northwest, drawing families to the beaches and waterways of Washington. As I listen to the news of recent swimming accidents, I'm reminded of a summer when I tragically lost my family on the water.
My art is a reflection of the deep emotions and vivid memories of my life, capturing the essence of love, loss, and the enduring connections that continue to resonate in my life.

Learning to paint is a lifelong journey of discovery and creativity. I enjoy guiding dedicated students in mastering acrylic painting techniques, overcoming creative challenges, and building confidence early in their artistic path.
Since 1996, Stacey Mayer's drawings have been delighting adults and children alike with her complimentary online coloring pages available on AWhiteHorse.com™. This allows her to share her drawings with children freely and publish her more of her personal sketches. Supporting young artists is important to her, and began with creating drawings with her own daughters, and now, teaching her grandson Benjamin how to draw.
Her goal is to establish a trust to support Benjamin's long-term care as a patient of Houston Children's Hospital's Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Program.
